Twitter is here to stay on the internet. This social media platform gains more and more enthusiastic users. It's an easy way to stay in touch with your family, friends and colleagues. But you can find interesting tweets from celebrities too. Who is really worth following? A lot of celebrities only use Twitter to do announcements. Or they joined Twitter but never write something. Boring! A series of articles about fun tweeps. In this one: parodies of celebrities.
A few suggestions for you to add to your list "following":
Parodies
@theUSpresident
This is the parody of Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America. Having over 52,000 followers, he is much less popular than the real Barack Obama (8 million followers). But quotes from @theUSpresident are much funnier:
- "When I was little I wanted to be the most powerful man in the world. Then Justin Bieber came along."
- "On this date three presidents died: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson & James Monroe. I'm staying inside today."
@EddieRMurphy
His profile states: "Don't take nothing I say serious, this is the Parody of Eddie Murphy". Still 42,000 people follow this fake account, not bad at all. A few quotes:
- "I hated going 2 weddings. All the grandma would poke me saying "you're next". They stopped that when I started doing that to them at funerals."
- "My wife isn't too good with computers, so I like to leave a screenshot of the Google homepage open and then watch while she loses her mind."
@FalseSteveJobs
Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple. This account is obviously a parody, just take a look at the nickname. @FalseSteveJobs is very popular; he has almost 470,000 followers. He writes a lot about Apple's products and likes to make fun of the company. A few of his tweets:
- "If Apple ran Twitter, the tweet submission and approval process would take 2-8 weeks. Oh, and we might delete your tweet at any time."
- "Just lost Angry Birds for the fifth time in a row. That's it. Banning it from the App store."
@WillFerrell
Will Ferrel is an actor from the United States of America. He doesn't have a Twitter account, but someone else made an account in his name. He makes sure people know it's a parody by explaining this in his profile. He has very little followers but deserves more. @EddieRMurphy is promoting his account for him. Some funny tweets:
- "My lesbian neighbors asked me what I wanted for my birthday. They gave me a Rolex, I think they misunderstood when I said I wanna watch."
- "The best way 2 hang up on some1 is to do it in the middle of ur own sentence, that way they will just think u lost service."
